It is often said that history repeats itself. What does that mean to a modern treasure hunter?
Well, it means that an idea that didn't go over in the past might be a big hit today.

How about a car that runs without gas, and recharges it's own batteries?

I uncovered a self sufficient electric automobile that Thomas Alva Edison built while
working for General Electric back in the early 1900's during the dawn of the Auto
Industry. But it was frowned upon by GE's core investors in the oil industry back
then, and continues to be a skeleton in their closet even today.

Edison was ousted from the company he helped create and build from the ground up.
Mainly because he got too close to achieving what everyone thought was impossible.
He invented himself right out of a job.

After that happened in 1919 he tried to have his car made by Ford but Henry Ford veiwed
the concept as simply too expensive for their purposes at that time, but hired Edison as
a top level engineer to help shave costs and manufacture a stripped down version of
Edison's car with a gasoline engine that utilized a hand crank instead of an electric
starter to start the engine. It was marketed as the "Ford Model T" and it launched the
Ford Motor Company into startum as a Major Auto Maker.

One man's failure, is another man's opportunitiy.

This has given me pause.
How many other such opportunities lay undiscovered in the history books?
As soon as I get my own rendition of Edison's self-sufficient drive train working
as a power assist unit for a series of bicycles, power generators, lawn mowers,
and air conditioners, and possibly to power a motorcycle or boat, I will revisit
diferent periods in the history of American Industry to investigate the subject
further. But right now I have more than enough material to chew on for awhile.

And yes... I do know how he did it, what problems he was having
getting it to work so that it was 100% self-sufficient without the need
for overnight charging from a public utility grid using ordinary car
batteries and simple "off the shelf" electrical components.

Those problems can be eliminated with modern technology and
components that have been developed since Edison's demise.

He invented the car battery, and the repeaters or capacitors that
made transcontinental telephone calls a reality for AT&T.
Both were components that were put to use in the design of his
self-sufficient automobile.

He only lacked a few things which were not available in his day and age.
Non-steam powered pneumatic technology and a few key electrical
components that have been invented or developed since that time which
he didn't have at his disposal back then.

I can't tell you guys all the juicy information until I have a U.S. Patent in hand.
All I can say is that I have completed a set of working shop drawings that I
am sitting on until I can drum up enough capital to have it built and put to
use on a few different prototypes that represent possible uses in at least
four different industries and until it is patented.

Why you may ask?

Well, jumping at the auto industry directly is risky business, I would much rather
approach a struggling auto maker with a patented solution and a lucrative business
deal where I charge them a royalty for a license to use my technology, while retaining
the rights to my work for use in other industries.

It is the wisest approach to applying the technology and profiting from it's
implimentation in a braud array of product lines across the board in several
different industries that can benefit from it's use to shave operating costs
and offer truly amazing new product lines.

In short, patent first smiles later

In the mean time, until I can set all this into motion, I am conducting an
online fund raising campaign to help gather the residual funds that will
be needed to setup shop and put together components needed to build
a series of challenge vehicles for publicity stunts.

My goal is to build an interesting cycle based vehicle that will be used to
travel the country to various destinations featured on the Cash and Treasure
show, and doing it without using a drop of gasoline or other recently proposed
alternative fuels. It would be great to be featured on the show but a cameo
appearance at one of the destinations would be nice too as a UPV (Unidentified
Powered Vehicle). Just to wet the public's whistle and peak their interest.

I will be getting in newspapers, magazines, and on the news as I cross the country
setting new records for range in distance and reliability for electric transportation
proving that big industry obviously missed something or didn't look at the subject
close enough even when they did consider it in the past.

Not to cause a black eye or anything, but to prove to the public that it can be done
and to get people interested that have been hit hardest by the high fuel prices.

Until then... I will just be another guy walking the river banks of the Old Muddy River
(The Mississippi River) with a metal detector in hand that has a comfortable set of
noise canceling headphones... when I am not working full-time doing something
insignificant like a security guard, janitor, fast food, retail, or something like that to
fund my true passion.

Happy hunting and prospecting ya all.

Feel free to contribute if you like, an open mind is a growing mind.
A closed mind... eventually grows old before it's time and becomes
moldly, bitter, and sour to the world outside

I personally prefer to keep an open mind.

Simply not doing it to continue juicing the public of it's hard earned money
for a commodity that is really not needed and hasn't been for the last 50
years and contributes to greenhouse gasses and global warming is not
environmentally concious behavior.

What good is the money going to do for people like the Bush family and
Dick Cheany's family when we all will be on oxygen and dieing of illnesses
caused by their actions?

We all are born naked, and we die naked, you cannot take your wealth with
you when you die, it stays here. We are judjed in the after life by what we did
or didn't accomplish to aid in the evolution of our own kind.

That, you can take with you to the grave and beyond with guilt or pride.

I have always been a proud individual, how about you?
