Hello Jeanette, Hey my name is Spence LIMBWALKER52, only because I walk limbs when trimming trees. Being a climber I have been able to repel into area rock quarries and collect some very nice zeolite material whereas other person could not reach. Being an amateur collector for the past years rocks and minerals started adding up very quickly. Sooo, this last month I sold two pickup loads of material in which I high graded out kept the best for myself and rid the rest. What I am finding out that it is better to collect quality vs. quanity. Western Washington has the best carnelian agate mostly in areas around Chehalis to Adna. Many creeks off the Columbia River West of Longview too have beautiful carnelian agate. WE also have an abundance of fossils that exist in the Astoria, Cowlitz, Montesano and Linclon Creek Formations. In the Greenwater by Mount Rainier the Greenwater has many types of high grade rough rock "agate". Further north in Snohomish County are old existing mines that have Stibnite, Chalcopyrites, etc. and the Chuckanut Formation with an abundance of leaf fossils and palm froms...Twin Rivers off the Straits of Juan de Fuca also have many types of fossils including ther Aturia. Many many fossil forms and crab fossils are located in and around the Satsop Nuc. Plant. Chehalis Red agate can be found at Ocean Shores at the edge of the Jetty. Oh so many wonderful places to collect in Western Washington. Eastern Wa...like Saddle Mountain out of Mattawa has some of the nicest Petrified, Opalized and Agatized Wood; all which reside on BLM land and is free to collect.....Good luck and Have FUn Collecting...Need a Map or directions?
