More about me...
How I first got into treasure hunting... Have loved rockhunting ever since I was a kid, but as an adult, took it up again when my boys were young. They've mostly outgrown it. I haven't.
My treasure hunting obsession(s): Agate, mostly.
My most exciting find: 5" slab of carnelian in Lucas Creek after 1996 flood.
My favorite places to look for treasure: Anywhere it's easy to find.
My favorite treasure hunting techniques: Looking, digging.
My treasure hunt toolkit contains... Shovel, Paleo-pick, nitrile gloves, Walmart bags and lunch (when I don't accidentally leave it in the car).
I'm presently hunting for... Agates to cut and polish.

MY FINDS
Description of treasure: Agate nodule, 6" tall, cut and polished. Exterior is dark reddish-gray.
Where I found it: Lucas Creek, after 2009 flood.
Description of treasure: Same nodule as at left, lit from behind. Position of two the halves is swapped.
Where I found it: Lucas Creek, after 2009 flood
Description of treasure: Banded carnelian in its native habitat. Where I found it: Lucas Creek feeder stream, Feb 2009. How I found it: By bushwhacking through nasty thickets of Salmonberry and Devil's club. Afterwards I picked stickers out of my hands for three days.
Description of treasure: 96 pound Lucas Creek seam agate Where I found it: Lucas Creek feeder stream, Feb 2009. How I found it: Exploring feeder streams. Carrying it out to the road I slipped and the rock landed on my little finger, chopping off my finger tip. As far as I'm concerned, a fingertip is a small price to pay for all the fun I've enjoyed hunting agates. But here's a "tip" from my experience: Let go of the rock before it hits the ground!
