That is why the tall on the front of my name.I have 2 son's one of which is also name tom so hence the Sr. I have 5 daughters I also have at this time 13 grand children with two more still in the oven with the timer set for april of this year. MY youngest child is 23 and my oldest grand child is 13. I travel alot because I lead native american ceremonies for people and go to ceremonies in several states. I travel through Idaho and montana alot. I do native weddins, Purification lodges ( sweat lodges), pipe ceremonies, child naming ceremonies, crossong over ceremonies for families who have lost loved ones, and I sundance in montana. I have been a rcovering drinker and drug user for 18 years. I do alot of work with people trying to get off drug's and alcohol and with children of these families. I live about twenty minutes west of westport washington and I love to get out in our surrounding forests and hunt mushrooms and wild blackberries and old bottles and cool stones. I hope to get a metal detector this year and search some of the old home sights I know about. I also hope to start learning to cut stones this year and want to make some table tops out of slabs of different petrified wood I have found.well enough for now bye |

I never know where I will be asked to do ceremony so it may be one day I will get over that way. At this time I am helping some young people prepare for thier first vision quest's and some other's get ready for sundance's that will be coming up soon. Some will be here in this state but some are going to south Dakota and some are going to Montana. I will be in Montana for a memorial Sundance in June and from there I don't know yet. Good hunting AHO MITAKOUIASIN HETCHE TU ALOH TOM |

Hi, I was just reading your who am I . I read that you want to do wood slabs and put them in tables! That is really great,my uncle did those years ago. He lived in Wenatchee,Wa. and the way I was told he kind of invented the process of doing the tables. His name was Bruce Sanford so some older rock hounds might have known him. I was also told by him that he invented the sphere machine. He has been gone for quite a few years and don't know if anybody is left that knew him. He also did carving, and I remember one bust of his wife he did and you would swear that it was going to talk to you. I have some pic's of his tables in storage still I think. When we get out there I will be sure you get to see them. I helped on one table and I loved it, long process and I'm sure they have improved on the prcess by now. He also put little lights under the edge of the tables to enhance the look! If you want I can kinda of tell you his process as I remember it. I just thought that you might be interested in knowing some of the rock background that I have. Later Sharon Tim's other half! |

"Hi,Hi Sharon, your uncle and I lived in the same neck of the woods. His names sound familiar. There is a rock club meeting this weekend and I will try to remember to ask some of the members if they knew him. I am sure they did as some of our members are in the 80's and 90's and have been a member of the rock club since inception in the 50's (I think). Man this is a small world. lol Paul |

Hi,It sure is a small world! Well I'll be looking to see if anybody knew him. Have a great meeting and I'm sure some should have known him. If they are like me they might not remember him since it has been quite a long time since they would have known him. Thanks for asking around about him. Write back soon Sharon |

Just an update for new people checking this out.Had a great day of digging with a small group of rock hounder's at saddle mnt. The trip was set up through this site and all directions and meet times and locations went perfectly. Had beautiful weather that day, great people, lots of laughs, and of course FAR OUT treasures from the earth to bring home. So put this site to use in your neck of the woods and grab a group and go. Then post the results like our group did so we can all share in the adventure. Good Hunting Tom |

Just another UpdateTo Date as a result of joining this site I have beenon four gathering outings with people I met here. Two outings to saddle mountain, one outing to newaukum river, and the latest outing to Harper oregon. All with people met here and at the first trip to saddle mountain we met another friend from Idaho and that led to the newaukum get together. This site has expanded my circle of rockhounding opportunities and increased my circle of great friends so much it amazes me. I hope any who join or read this thread will take advantage of the great opportunities available and join some of the outings. Or if they are to far away to join ours, that they will take the leap and stat someof their own. Tom |

Hmmm depends on the route. You know you route, check the states you will be traveling trough in the national directory. There is a good chance Bill or other have posted rock hunting places that you may get a chance to stop at on your way out. At Helena MT, see if the El Dorado is open (nice big sapphires) and dig there and try to head down to Phillipsburg and Gem Mtn, for sapphires. Could be a fun trip coming out West. :-) Paul

Hay Tim and SharonLooking forward to your arrival. Be safe on the road. Paul had the right idea look on the national directory and match that against your route and you may have to add a day or two to your trip to make some stops. Tom |
