eastwaangel What do you think of the New WA State Gold Prospecting Rules? 0 Feb 20 2009, 11:53 PM EST by eastwaangel

Washington State adopted new rules for small scale gold prospecting this year. The rules and regulations are set to go into effect on April 1, 2009.

The new "authorized work times" will restrict or eliminate several of my favorite placer prospecting sites.

WA State Fish and Wildlife justified the new restrictions based on the possibility of harm to fish even though no studies have ever shown that there has ever been a fish harmed by small scale placer miners.

What do you think?
