Whether looking for beach agates, or heading to the East side, agate material is what I like. I have been playing with rocks and gems for practically all my life, and enjoy all aspects of this hobby.

One of my passions is the collecting and cutting of Oregon's State Rock, the thunderegg. I like thundereggs so well, that last year we purchased a claim near Harper, Oregon. They are called the Skull Springs, Harper Valley, or the Butte Creek thundereggs, and have been dugged since the 50's. We have eggs up to 3 feet in diameter consisting of dark red to maroon matrix with hollow centers, and some with solid pastel colored agate consisting of swirls and fortification features. Some real nice jasper can also be found on our claim.

Hopefully we be leading field trips into the area for people to enjoy the outbacks without tv's, phones, other worries of our busy schedules the is part of the rat race.
Soon you will be seeing our web site for information and posting of materials for sale.

How about starting a thread consisting of field trips we might be taking coming up either individually or as groups?

Might give us a better chance of meeting up with others if we had an idea what others are doing.

Anyone interested in digging their own thundereggs or join us in our adventures? We are opening up a new area this next year and will be able to bring others along.
