Hello I have been drawn to this sight because of what else ROCKS.
My hobbies, if I'm not at work I'm working on my home if I'm not working on my home then I'm out hunting fish, animals or rocks (gem and minerals) sometimes just plain rocks because the wife wants them for the yard or drive way :} or playing with my lapidary equipment.
We started collecting about two years ago with panning for gold at a claim her uncle has in Idaho, then started watching Cash and Treasures and where hooked. We have been to the BLM land for sunstones, Internet ordered sapphire gravel for Helena's Spokane bar , then we went to Richardson's Rock Ranch 3 times, Gem Mountain in Montana which is only minutes from my mom's side of the family. Live in SE Washington and am trying to find anything and everything I can get my hands on.
Best find has changed from the limb cast I found not far from home to all the people I now have in my friends box.

I figured with people starting to get into the craze of rockhounding because of the Cash and Treasures programs that the Lapidary side is part of it. Most people doing this don't have alot of money to buy new equipment to start out with (all mine is used, I even started with a 7" tile saw from Home Depot). So if you have a piece of equipment you don't need anymore do to upgrading or just don't want it taking up space or if your looking for a piece that you don't have in your shop maybe someone here has it or needs it. If you have a piece of equipment that your not quit sure how to use maybe someone can help out with some useful tips.
I hope this takes off and is useful to everyone.
Dave
