Lapidary Equipment for sale, trade, wanted or just plan helpful tips

I figured with people starting to get into the craze of rockhounding because of the Cash and Treasures programs that the Lapidary side is part of it. Most people doing this don't have alot of money to buy new equipment to start out with (all mine is used, I even started with a 7" tile saw from Home Depot). So if you have a piece of equipment you don't need anymore do to upgrading or just don't want it taking up space or if your looking for a piece that you don't have in your shop maybe someone here has it or needs it. If you have a piece of equipment that your not quit sure how to use maybe someone can help out with some useful tips.
I hope this takes off and is useful to everyone.
Dave

That would work to. Another idea would be trade for services, such as I have the rock saws but not the tumbling or faceting equipment. I might be willing to cut or slab whole rocks for someone if they facet a gem for me.

Hello,
Not at this time. I have a fair amount of equipment and rough material and I have this extra saw and need just one more thing to complete my shop. I am always looking for more rough to cut and polish though. Let me know your prices. I will take 500.00 for the saw. Thanks, Don

What exactly are you looking for as ar as replacing equipment? and have you thought about trying to sell your jade. I think my wife would be interested in some rough to work with.

Hi,
I have a lot of different colors from dark emerald green to pink. We mined this years ago in Wyoming and have carried it around for all these years and are tired of carring the rock around. I have a few small pieces and they go up to semi-large.If she is interested please write me at our e-mail Rockhound5555@yahoo.com Thanks Sharon

The equipment has been sold. But I have about 200lbs of top grade Mozarkite that I would like to sell. The sizes range from tumble to a little larger than softball. If you buy the whole thing it is a 1.00 a lb. Thanks, Don

Excellent Forum & Page Topic.
I have nothing in the way of equipment and am interested in used tumblers & saw.
Trade,Barter,Exchange 4 Goods,Services or Product. I like the idea. Cash works as well.

I come across equipment from time to time and let everyone know when I run across anything. Have lots of eggs from our claim for sale. Charging 2/lb for smaller than about 6" in diameter, $1/lb for bigger up to about 14+"s in diameter.

Who has rough for sale? I've tried to follow the thread back to the original sender but it goes on forever and I haven't found the first yet.

Just about every one on this thread has some sort of rough. Click on thier profile image and send them a message asking what type of rough they have and how much and they will get back to you. It has worked for me

Hi,
We have lots of jades in different colors. We mined ourselves in Wyo years ago. Woods, agate,Lysite agate and Turitella. Most of our rocks are from Wyo. I suggest you let people know what your looking for if you know what you want. I hope that this helps you in yur hunt. Also I'm willing to trade for other rock I don't have or what ever just ask. Thanks Tim

Thanks for your fast reply.
I'm looking for plume agate, nice jasper, and crazy lace, agates with inclusions, Maury Mountain moss, I haven't been able to find a source for Apache Rhyolite either. Nice stuff for slabs.

I don't need thundereggs, geodes, or Brazil agate.

NEED HELP WITH 16' OLD DIAMOND STAR SAW.
anyone have experience with them?
All of the sudden my stops feeding about an inch into a cut. The vice carriage is a little wobbly, not much tho, and I'm wondering how to tighten it. Maybe that will take care of the problem.

I was actually thinking of rough for sale.

But, I do have a 6" inland trim saw that I don't use. I bought it when I was working in Texas for three months to use in my hotel room. It's had very little use, and I don't need it because I have an 8" trim saw that I use at home.
