I am a serious Entrepreneur seeking funds to start a
new type of Alternative Energy based Motor Company. Through the start-up phase I plan to capitalize on smaller markets in industry other than the Auto Industry. This strategy will allow such a company to grow in several different markets to gain the momentum and financial clout needed to address the Automotive Industry. Banks and lenders are not responsive to new business start-ups in the Alternative Energy Field because they leverage their earnings by investing in the petroleum industry. I have assembled a list of places that are worth searching with metal detectors in and around the St. Louis bi-state area. But many of these places are not the sort of places one would want to traverse alone. I am looking for some friends that are interested in covering large areas that have not been previously thought of by other treasure hunters. You can keep what you find. My purpose for doing this is because there is often safety in numbers when searching river banks, wooded areas, and other potentially dangerous areas that most people don't usually investigate alone. Also, if anyone knows of any good pawn shops or other sources that handle used metal detectors in the St. Louis, MO. area, I am interested and would like to check them out. You can forward any commets to my email at carlstone@netzero.net Thanks, and I'll be looking forward to hearing from those with questions or comments.

Yeah, that's right....Jade.
I thought I'd start a jade rendezvous for Washington...just a show and tell event for serious WA jade hunters to show everyone else what they have and trade stories. Maybe hold one this spring (late). Suggestions, sites and dates appreciated. It could just start out as a wiki rendezvous but I'll personally email the WA folks not on the wiki to join as well...and whereever else I can put out the word. I know Aaron knows some folks and I bet Redrummd would like to come as well...maybe he could host in fact!? He has a property that folks can camp on and a shop on the primises....I'll email him. All thoughts welcome. ~Zeke

Well if your interested in metal detecting and don't know much about it you may want to go along with someone that does. There is a local prospecting group that also has members that use metal detectors on a regular basis. If your in the Portland Oregon areas check out http://www.nwmpc.com/ They have lots of outings and you can learn a lot.

I would like to extend an invitation this weekend for a trip to Vesper Peak, WA this Sat-Sun. It will be a backpacking trip, stopping short of the peaks to camp. It is about 4 hours up and steep, but otherwise your basic Washington hike. The weather is looking acceptable. We will be looking for orange grossular garnet and maybe stopping on the way up or down for some peacock ore. Strictly BYOB. if you need certain equipment I may be able to help.

I am a 48 year old female, not looking for a relationship, but looking for a rock hunting partner. I like to go hunting anywhere and all conditions, but don't like to go into the middle of nowhere alone. Have the rest of the summer off because I am a high school teacher and would like to get in a couple more rock hounding adventures. Live in the Lake Arrowhead, San Bernardino County area. Would like a trip to Utah?? or???

I've had a few members ask about my newsletter. So forgive me for promoting my site - but here it is: <http:/GemHunter.webs.com>. The newsletter is free and discusses how to find minerals and discusses mineral and gem deposits I visited through the years. If you sign up, you simply get an e-newsletter each month about what to look for when gem hunting and prospecting.
If you are interested in gold, I discuss gold on this site as well as on at another site I'm building: <http://GeologicalConsultant.webs.com>. Recently a major gold discovery was made in the Rattlesnake Hills, so, I've a section on this discovery.

Howdy fellow treasure huntin' buddies! These days ya gotta plan way ahead to take one of those "special" gem hunting field trips so that's exactly what we're up to.
Summer 2010 plan to come prospecting with us! We're in the process of putting together field trips to hunt for Gold, Diamonds, and Emeralds! Our gold prospecting field trips usually include famous historic areas in Colorado's South Park and Wyoming's Centennial Ridge. BUT.... in addition to this, next summer we invite you all to come to British Columbia to work our two mine claims on the Fraser River between Lillooet and Layton. We'll stay at the Cayoosh Creek Campground and RV Park then take the jet boat down the river to the claim. Learn to pan and sluce, get to know the subtle art of extracting fine gold and flakes. Prolly more importantly you'll learn where to dig and why there. Gold is where you find it, we found some and you may too! There's lots of placer gold on our claims to shine in the bottom of your pan. Naturally you keep all the gold and gems you find... O did I mention that we've also found Jade, Serpintine, Agates and (man was I surprised) Sapphires! For our next incredable rockhounding adventure we're adding a helicopter expedition to our Emerald Mine near Revelstoke... right now we're thinking floor tents and 3 days... anybody curious? Please help, we'd love to have your take on all this, comments? Diamond Prospector Dan and I have considered trying to have a couple of field trips to the State Line district to hunt for Diamonds this next summer... millions of the little gems just laying in the creek bottoms out there! REALLY!! Anybody wanna help work out the details? Hey custom gem tour... on the cheap 2010 We're thinking camp out style for this next summer as the Guest Ranch and Hot Springs Resort accommodations kinda priced everyone out of the '09 tours. Wadda you guys think?

Does this sound interesting??
I have secured permission from a private party, the use of a cabin or two along the Naches river about 12 miles west of Naches. Due to the elevation of Timberwolf, my thought is to shoot for a Wiki friends get together sometime in August... The owners are rock friendly and will most likely join in, and I am very greatful for their kindness, generosity, and willingness to open their doors to host this adventure. If this seems interesting, Please check your schedule and let me know what works for you...or doesnt. I'd like to coordinate this so that as many us that would like to attend, can. There are also plentiful camping sites in the area for those that wish to pitch a tent. Those of you with camp trailers and motorhomes should have no problems finding space nearby as well and are encouraged to bring them if you have them. Space in the cabins is obviously limited, so to be up front, first come first served...I'll try to have a better idea of the number of beds available by the end of next week...or sooner if response is favorable. Please email me here and let me know if you are interested, when available, and if you'll be interested in cabining tenting or home away from homing :) I'm also looking for input, as I've never coordinated anything like this before...so all comments, questions, and suggestions will be warmly received! Thanks and Happy hunting!! Ron

Well I am a yard sale junky and on Friday this last week I purchased a highland park Rock saw, 2 tumblers, a Vibromet thingy, and a couple gringing benches. Why ??
I found what i thought was a geode two years ago and wanted to cut it open but did not know where to take it. so I brought the equipment home and set up the saw and cut my rock to find it was a nodule. but had succh a good time i cut about 5 other rock for the heck of it. I though i would post here to see if anyone wants to show me how to use this stuff in exchange for using it themself. I live in granite Falls Wash on Canyou creek and have access to plenty of rocks. I een told this is a great area fo find good stuff so let me know if anyone is comming to this area so i can tag along

Hi Everyone,
I am considering starting a rockhound club in my area. I just wanted to see what everyone thought of this idea. Any suggestions, ideas, warnings, etc are welcome. I dont know anything about starting a club, but I am really kicking the idea around. We seem to have enough rockhounds in the area to start a club, but I don't want to start something that I can't finish, so I would love your ideas and insights on this subject. Also if there are any other clubs out there that I could or should not tie-into would be helpful to know also. :) Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello rockhounds and Treasure Hunters....I am new to this site and thought I'd come in and see if there are others from Northeastern Wisconsin and to say "Hello" to all. I have around 5 acres of property with a gravel pit located on this land....it keeps me busy. Thus far I've found garnets, a real nice sized Geode with amethyst in it, and lots of things I'm unaware of what they are thus far. I read alot on minerals and gems and I think I often "over read" and then get confused when I look in the pan with my loop. I hear there are diamonds around here, placer gold, garnets, rubies, sapphire, opal, fresh water pearl. I enjoy the relaxation it provides and reading about it is fun too. Any members from Wisconsin who are interested in sharing their finds, discussing the possibilities, etc., I will welcome. Again, "Hello to all"!
