been hooked on rocks ,since i was a kid,i find myself now an empty nester, so alot of time to myself..
.it would be an awesome blessing if i could make friends on this site who have rocks on the brain as i do :)
unfortunatly i live in southern new jersey,which doesnt have much going on in the way of cool rocks .i did find a really awesome bit of
petrifide wood ,still sitting under the rotten branch it came from . the woods around here have a high acid soil content im guessing
found some other odd out of place rocks ..and a living clear quarts pebble within cracks is a green algee ,
if its kept dry and dark the green fades .no worries a little water and some sun and its green again (my favorite pet rock,its truely alive)
working on getting a camera ,so i can photo share ,i know the rocks of south jersey arent the coolest ,but
iv found some odd ones that are note worthy..atleast to my untrained eye.
if you are a rockhound as i am ,add me no rock should stand alone
