| This is a photo log of a small project using hand tools. A piece of interesting Adna Agate was taken from rough to finished in about eight hours. The total investment in tools was about $110.00 dollars. Even with a small budget you can make some nice pieces with a little patience. I hope this will inspire others to give stone working a shot and not worry about having fancy equipment to work with. I love working on my stones . Tall Tom Sr | Adna Rough |

I started this thread as a place for comments or questions on working with hand tools. As shown in the Adna Agates start to finish page and other pics on my profile page I do alot of freeform and hand tool projects. Aperson does notneed alot of big equipment to start learning abut how to work with stone. It is great to have the best you can afford but don't let a low budget stop you from making beautiful pieces out of material you gather. I do plan on getting better equipment when I can. However until then I will continue to use what I have to make pieces for myself and family and friends. I hope otheres will share their efforts and the results.
Tom
