Location #1: Moore Creek Alaska
This historic gold mine still produces some big nuggets for those who visit. Its a private property, but they allow visitors for a free. Visitors keep all the gold they find. For More info, see:

How to get there:You have to fly from Anchorage to Mc Grath, then via bush pilot by plane to the Moore Creek Mine. This beautiful remote part of Alaska, with no roads, is quite an adventure.
