"My husband and I are planning on taking a vacation the 1st week of Sept. and would like some ideas on cool places in Ohio or in the surrounding states to go treasure hunting. All help would be appreciated!"

"Hi Tim. I do understand about the complaints. You can't please everyone. I was out in Helena about 3 weeks ago, and was working out at our El dorado Bar mine for 4 days. People just don't understand how much gravel and dirt needs to be moved to produce the sapphire. God forbid they don't find any. So I finally got to the place where I offer My small adventurers pack which is pure untouched virgin, great on the rocks not so much on the sapphire, but I have had a few found recently. All the rest of my gravel packs, I clearly state how much sapphire is added. If they find more great. Well or coarse the die hard rock hounds can't stand the salt and if they find nothing in the virgin, then they complain also. Sometimes you cannot win. All I want to do is to bring the thrill of mining for that treasure to people in their homes. It has gotten to expensive for most to travel these days as you well know, so bringing the enjoyment to them can be enjoyable. I started by doing parties for kids and still do them, encouraging a new generation of rockhounds. I only had one real complaint this year, knock on wood. Like you said, people need to understand what they are buying so if they do not read it in an add, they need to ask questions."
