Treasure Adventure = Family Fun

We have been traveling to herkimer, NY, for the past 6 years......It is an affordable treasure hunt. There is a koa w/cabins and camping available.Koa has been increasing there fees for the last 2 years since the travel channel episode. It was 28 a night now its 48 a night to camp. There is a great tubing river that is always refreshing..The best diamonds can be found at ace diamonds mine, next to the koa mine.....Koa has not blasted in fifteen years...Ace blasts every year, well worth the primitive vs commerical. Look for gray rock w/ domalite /carbon cavities. There are plentiful of diamonds in the dirt for easy picking. This year we found over fifty diamonds on the upper level at Ace Mine-you can drive to the top of the hill, picnic tables available on a first come basis.There is a great hidden gem of beauty between the two mines. A slow creek that cascades into the river, if you have boots you can walk up like stairs. Remenber to bring your own tools or you can rent them for a reasonable rate. Merry Mining
