| Jade Gallery Page 3 Misc Localities |
| Opaque axe Grandy Creek | Likely greyish green opaque jade. the darker green spot is softer, maybe serpentinite. Stuff like this makes me wonder if there are hard marbles. |
| Jady Unknown Grandy Creek | I don't know, maybe. |
| Jady stripes Grandy Creek | not likely, but interesting piece, possibly rodingite, maybe marble but I recall it being too hard. has nice green areas, translucent grey plus opaques like the other stuff. |
| Brown and Green Stripes NF Stillaguamish River | not likely but pretty. I broke off a tiny spot and was not terribly impressed, but it still has a chance. |
| Black Stripes Grandy Creek | Likely just chert, but the black stripes throws me off |
| PoorPilchuck 1 | Maybe just a chert nodule. The shape kind of looks like a coprolite! Its got quite a rind on it. I think the fracturing is more splintery than conchonical. |
| OddOdd Grandy Creek | An interesting hard rock. Would like to put a name to it. |
| Not Wood NF Stillaguamish River | A spot on this one looks like a window inside that is green. |
| PoorPilchuck 5 | jady or cherty |
| Blue and White Grandy Creek | from the rodingite zone, interesting blue slick |
| G or J Deer Creek, Oso | Hard and heavy with Rind. Either jade or Hydogrossular or both. Maybe even listwaenite? |
| Shimmer 2 Grandy Creek | Jady spot on this piece that is covered by tremolite(?) |
| Jade Knob Grandy Creek | Knob of the opaque "jade", greys and greens. broke into it. tentatively I'd say its partially serpenitized and calc-silicate. The bottom half is too. between the two it split nicely revealing a dark translucent green with strait black lines...looking like a slickenslide, very hard...actinolite or jade...pictures when I get a chance. I don't believe anything on this piece is going to be usable though. Here are the pictures of the broken rock's inards. |
| PoorPilchuck4 | ugly rock? The stuff I picked up from Pilchuck was when I was first starting, so they might be just junkite (likely), but it was reported that it was an ugly greyish green nephrite so that's what I ended up picking up. Negative thinking perhaps. |
| Olive 2 Grandy Creek | I believe this is another rodingite, not certain about the translucent olive green, maybe more epidote? |
| Shimmer 1 Grandy creek | More tremolite(?) on a jady rock |
| Olive 1 Slickenslide Grandy Creek | Epidote slickenslide (replacement) on rodingite. |
| Poor Pilchuck 3 | An another ugly piece from Pilchuck. I really need to go back there and find something better to show for the creek...and so I have, see later pages and coming soon. |
| Blue Knob Grandy Creek | Unknown blue knob on rodingite |
| Baby Dragon Grandy Creek | Epidote on tan rodingite |
| PoorPilchuck 2 | Rindy probable ugly nephrite |
| Deer Creek, Oso J1 | Jade or metasomatic jade wannabe...from cuts of other samples, this is a good jade TRIP REPORT 04-29-09 |
| Hydrogrossular Garnet Deer Creek, Oso | Hydogrossular garnet rodingite TRIP REPORT 04-29-09 |
| Deer Creek, Oso J2 | jade or metasomatic wannabe...from cuts of other samples this is a good jade. TRIP REPORT 04-29-09 |
| HGG or JADE Deer Creek, Oso | This one appears more likely to be jade than HGG because of the grain size, but could just be a well polish piece. It also isn't the same bright green. TRIP REPORT 04-29-09 |
| Hydrogrossular garnet Rodingite Deer Creek, Oso | There is a band of material in this one that is likely nice jade. The green here is garnet in oxidized opaque white stuff (HGG) TRIP REPORT 04-29-09 |
