"I am 99% sure it is found in the wilds of Minnesota along with the Dodo birds. I have seen beautiful pieces of binghamite (correct spelling) and the owners claim to have found it in the cold regions of our nation called "Minnesota" by some. But up till now no one is talking. It is one of the best kept secretes "You bet' ya" as they would say in those regions.
Bill" Well I didn't know Dodo birds live(d) in Minnesota. The piece of Binghamite I saw was on eBay. Oh yeah, I always thought that it was "Yah, sure, you betchya" kind of long and drawn out in the ol' Norske/Swed accent. (I just hope that there are no Norwegians and Swedes reading this. I know having both names so close together could be fightin' words. lol ;-) And both the same accent, I am really asking for it.) Oh yeah my name is Frank. really... And I live in the other Washington the DC kind,,,, for reals too.... Just in case you above mentioned great people are looking for me. Binghamite (also called silkstone and cyunite) is a type of agate stone found only on the Cuyuna iron range (near Crosby) in Crow Wing County, Minnesota. The formation of the stone occurs near deposits of iron ore. (Directly quoted from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
