These don't have anything to do with Jade, just stuff I like that I've found along the way.

I pick up a lot of red rocks hoping they are the red jade. I know this isn't because of the yellow sill shown here. But jasper is my second great love.

Tower Hill is the only place nearby that I know of for jasper that I live near, outside of randomly finding it on creeks while hunting for jade, though I haven't put much effort into finding other localities as I am too busy with the jade hunting.

Three kinds of crystallization are evident here. Fist, the hard white stuff surrounding the second white "bone" and third, imprints on the first stuff of another crystal growth that has weathered out. The matrix or ground mass is a soft stone...serpentinite? or soapstone? or what? I want comments on this more than anything.

Spring '09 This is a true agate I believe even though the weathering makes it hard to see the banding and agatiness.

Just a sample of where the agate is coming from on Pilchuck...note the green on the right. Some of the matrix on Pilchuck appears to be garnierite.
