Big Insulators

Old Power Line Insulators
Believe it or not collecting power line insulators is a big hobby. Old insulators are valued based upon their rarity and their uniqueness. The glass insulators can be quite attractive. The first system to use insulators were the telegraph lines beginning in the 1840s. The first ceramic insulators were produced in England by the Stiff and Doulton company.

Fourche Maline Tribes
2500 to 1100 BC
Every Spring my wife's dad would plow up Native American tools from his garden. These tools varied from axes, toma hawks, arrowheads. digging mauls, knifes etc. The rock for making the tools was found on the property in a small wash. Dark colored Quartzite was heat treated by burying the stone under a fire. The site was ideal for a campground. The Mountain Fork River and a large stream, Mill Creek, intersects at the property. The ancient tribes were the for runners of the Mound Builders who built cities that rivaled the Mayas in Central America. There is a collection of Fourche Maline artifacts at the Noble Museum at the University of Oklahoma.
