The cobble I have looks to have the same strands in it as the one I have from Deer Creek. How big is your cobble and are you going to do anything with it? I can cut or slab stone up to 7 inches across and I don't mind doing a cut for you.I do barter custom knife trades for exceptional stone. Do you find this valuable? |

Its about 5" across, if you click on the picture it links to an album on Photobucket that should have some shots where I'm holding it for scale. That one I might just polish up as a display. I would prefer to find two of the same thing before I cut one, so I guess I need to hit Deer Creek again;-) I'm an aggressive rockhound...I'll find more before the month is through. I emailed you first, then read this. Perhaps I could buy the knife my son wants, bring down a good sized stone(s) we both like and make it that way, you keeping the bulk. That way the knife will be of material I found, which is neater.~Zeke Do you find this valuable? |

I am woring on a Buck 110 with the chatoyant jade cobble. I do knives in groups so the knife won't be finished until the middle of June. So, in a couple of weeks I will know if it is good jade in regard to polish and appearance. It does appear to be mostly jade but brecciated at some point in a geological event. I think it has other componets in the breccia though. It is on the soft end of the scale for jade but does have white mud and is tough.
