Peacock Mine in Nevada
I'd be interested in hearing from someone who's been to the Peacock mine, or other black opal mines in northern Nevada. A few years ago the show The Best Places to Search For Cash & Treasure (saw this show again today) gave a good account of the site and it seems like one of the best places to be able to dig in virgin material for these extremely valuable gemstones. Thanks.

Royston Mine turquoise info...
I remember seeing the Travel Channel show where they ended up mining for turquoise in Nevada. Kirsten said it was $50.00 a day and they provided the tools. But when I called, the fee was $100.00 per person to mine out there. Is there anyone that knows if the rates go up certain times of the year? I called to go now for the Summer. When the travel Channel went they were in December.
