1. RE: good place to treasure hunt in AZ

Our family use to live in AZ for about 10 years. If you want to go panning for gold go up to Lynx Lake in northern AZ. If you want to search for lost treasures you need to find old copies of Arizona Highways magazines. In each issue there would be a story about the lost treasure waiting to be found. Good Luck.

It has been a while since I have been through AZ, I have fond memories of the Flag Staff area. Strange weather patterns that place has. I have heard that certain geological features in and around that area produce electromagnetic fields that actually effect the weather. Such as large meteorite specimens that litter the region. And they can be found with a metal detector. If your interested, they can fetch premium prices at geological auctions. $$$$ On another note, I also heard that Gold can be found litterally all across the state of AZ. Just find a desert like area with rocky terrain, and go for a walk with your trusty metal detector. You'll be surprized what you can find by doing that. 6 out of 8 found this valuable. Do you? |

I recommend buying a copy of "Gem Trails of Arizona" if you are interested in minerals and crystals. Also Quartzsite has several big gem and mineral sales areas during January. The Roadrunner mineral club in Quartzsite has their annual Pow Wow January 23 thru 27. They have two field trips each day to collecting sites in the area and lots of beautiful stuff for sale at the Quartzsite Improvement Association.

no matter where you live in AZ there are things to find. I lived in north Phoenix 4 years. The gem trails of arizona book would be a great start for finding places to go close to home. Where do you live? If its Phoenix try the wash just west of Ben Avery for light green jasper. Also found a piece of dark green that is as hard as Jade. I have a 16 inch saw with power fed that wouldnt cut it on a normal speed. I had to slow it way down before I could get a good cut with out binding the balde. no matter where you live there is nice agate or jasper. Good luck, 5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hi Kristopher,Have heard about the whole AZ, is like a treasure chest. It doesn't have to be precious stone but you have some variety like, torquoise, agate, kinoite, quartz and others. You can also find some interesting fossils, meteorite, dinosaur eggs, petrifiend plants and woods. Petrified woods, plants and fossils comes in different forms and more valuable than precious stones , rocks and minerals. Also you can still find some Native American artifacts, but you need a permit to do this. Have you visited, Quartsite, Inspiration mine, Kingman and the Navajo Country landscape. Good Luck, Berto 7 out of 8 found this valuable. Do you? |
