My Boyfriend and I live in Manchester, CT. We are new to the idea of treasure hunting and are excited about places in Connecticut (if there are any) or areas close by. I have a small amount of experience in panning for gold. We are interested in gem stone and gold treasure hunting. What kind of group are you trying to put together? 1  out of 2 found this valuable. I am looking to find people who are interested in finding gem stones. I would definitely be up for looking for gold, but I know a few places to find different types of rocks like Amethyst, garnet, and diffrent color Quartzite. Would you guys be interested? 5  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

I just joined a group in Springfiled Mass, because I, like you, don't know many spots. I will tell you more if I find out any.

You all are off to a great start here. a group of us have done what you are trying to do. check out wet in washington or agate addiction and you will get more idea's. make it a three step outing. first pick a known site.second have a guide who has been there before.third pick a date farenough out that people can make plan's and arrangement's and exchange little tid bit's of info suck as accomidation's for shy people. Not every one is comfortable watering the daisies if you know what I mean. Also road conditions and closest town. A tool and clothing list and possible ride sharing from a designated point. I look forward to report's of a group of you making a successful first trip. JUst remember to have fun it is the most important part.
Good Luck

Can you tell me where we can go panning for Gold AND Diamond Mining? A few of us would love to go, but don't know where. We are from Tolland County. We wouldn't mind traveling 1-3 hours. I went to Herkimer, NY and had a great time. We found a few crystals.
Thank you.
