There is a great group that I found when I was starting out. I am still a member and the club is a good size and the people are very friendly. Their website is: www.mwas.org. The name of the group is Mid-western Artifact Society. I can't talk enough about the club. Because of them I was able to truely enjoy going out metal detecting. I keep hoping my husband will come with me, but no such luck. There are several couples who are members, so I can't see how you wouldn't fit in.

Don, I don't know of any clubs in South Dakota but there is a treasure hunters message board that gets posted to concerning South Dakota. Maybe you can find a detecting buddy there. Here is the link http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php?board=182.0
