Putting a group together in the St. Louis, MO. bi-state area.

I am a serious Entrepreneur seeking funds to start a
new type of Alternative Energy based Motor Company.

Through the start-up phase I plan to capitalize on smaller
markets in industry other than the Auto Industry. This strategy
will allow such a company to grow in several different markets
to gain the momentum and financial clout needed to address
the Automotive Industry.

Banks and lenders are not responsive to new business start-ups
in the Alternative Energy Field because they leverage their earnings
by investing in the petroleum industry.

I have assembled a list of places that are worth searching with metal
detectors in and around the St. Louis bi-state area. But many of these
places are not the sort of places one would want to traverse alone.

I am looking for some friends that are interested in covering large
areas that have not been previously thought of by other treasure
hunters. You can keep what you find. My purpose for doing this
is because there is often safety in numbers when searching
river banks, wooded areas, and other potentially dangerous
areas that most people don't usually investigate alone.

Also, if anyone knows of any good pawn shops or other
sources that handle used metal detectors in the St. Louis,
MO. area, I am interested and would like to check them out.

You can forward any commets to my email at

carlstone@netzero.net

Thanks, and I'll be looking forward
to hearing from those with questions
or comments.

Also, on another note.

This prospecting gig is just one of many ideas that I am
investigating to help generate start-up capital to setup shop
to start the business I have described.

I understand that many retired folks do it as a hobby to help
suppliment their fixed incomes, and others just do it as a
past time to get out and go for a walk.

But if this activity in prospecting shows promise, there is a
chance that it could turn into a side venture that is on-going
as a Prospecting Service for property owners. In which case
a flat fee will be charged for finding lost objects, investigating
streams or fields, and so forth.

This means that there may be future opportunities for people
interested in doing this sort of thing for a part-time job for those
who enjoy metal detecting and geology.

But starting out, it's just going to be a group that get's together
every other weekend or so. To search a different location or
site each time we go out.

All that are interested can
contact me at:

Also, I have done some research on what
I am preparing to do and I have discovered
that another good tool to have for hunting
treasure besides a metal detector is a
good light weight aluminum or fiberglass
canoe, to reach sand bars and islands on
rivers that would otherwise be inaccessible.

There were allot of homes washed away
in the Floor of 1993 by the Missouri, Illinois,
and Mississippi Rivers.

There is allot of terrain to cover, and allot
of things that were never recovered.

Finders keepers.

Yep.....I'm thinking big. This will be a serious effort
to recover any and all metal objects that may be of
value even as a raw material.

Think of all the silver plateware, jewelry, and other such
items that could be just waiting to be found out there
either on the river banks or other areas.

That is why I am putting the people and resources
together to go check these areas out. Because as
an enterprising entrepreneur I am almost positive
that there is quite allot out there to be found.

Great idea! Just finished reading the 'Urban Treasure Hunter'...also just bought a nice White's metal detector (although I'm not experienced with it yet). I'm a member of GPAA and have been on their gold prospecting trip. Realize detecting would be a lot safer in a group. Live in Belleville just across the river from St. Louis. Email is joyfowler@aol.com Let me know. Thanks! Joyce Fowler Do you find this valuable?

I have been having trouble getting onto the site here for
the past few months, The weather has been cold, hot, cold,
warm, and cold again anyway.......not much metal detecting
going on because of all the mud and whacky weather.

But I wanted to let everyone know that I am still wanting
to get out and do some metal detecting and treasure
hunting come this late Spring through the early part of
the Fall season. 2009 isn't looking up to have a very
good Job Outlook, so I might find myself with some
extra time on my hands due to the loss of overtime
and regular full-time hours getting cut back as well.
A sad reality that follows extreme cost cutting measures
being implemented by employers all around the Bi-State
area. No bother... with Gold at an all time high it makes
sense to start looking for the stuff, on a more serious
scale than what we have been. It's worth doing now.

That means it's going to be an interesting year for
people like us who are interested in Metal Detecting.

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still here
and kicking it with my trusty metal detector.

Hi, i am interested in going on one of the trips that you get together. I got a metal detector for Christmas last year and have only used it once.
thanks for your time
