Peacock Mine in Nevada

I'd be interested in hearing from someone who's been to the Peacock mine, or other black opal mines in northern Nevada. A few years ago the show The Best Places to Search For Cash & Treasure (saw this show again today) gave a good account of the site and it seems like one of the best places to be able to dig in virgin material for these extremely valuable gemstones. Thanks.

Me and my wife returned from the royal peacock in august of 2007 we stayed about 4 days there and dug for 2 we were fortunate to uncover one of the largest pieces of opal about 300 carats of beautiful opal we have had some pieces cut and polished and will leave the rest in its rough stage. If you would like I can send you some pictures of what we found. If you want to find cash and treasures you can find it there if you find the right spot. Have fun and good luck. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?
