I'd love any info re: Holly Blue in Oregon..

Years ago a good friend toled me about a beautiful stone. "Such a bitchin color," he said, very excited. "Only in Oregon he added. It's called Holly Blue, and its rare."
I had no reason to doubt his knowledge. Perhaps the story, was just that..a story. Or maybe not, and that will be, Fun in the Sun, for us this summer ! Do you find this valuable?

Interesting. Are you from around the Oregon area? Holley Blue digging area has been closed for about the last 6-8 years now, and what a shame. I use to dig up there quite often and was one of my favorite digging places. He is right. The blues and purples that come from there are outrageious. I miss it a lot.

Not sure this has any relevance.. But last Dec.. while of course heading to NC, we stopped at one of the VA rest stops.. and One of the maintenance workers was a native American.. approached us out of no where.. and told us about a "blue" stone in the river at the Gorge in WV.. For one we had no idea why he simply came up to us.. and let alone we were heading in the wrong direction.. So has anyone went to the gorge.. and located this Blue stone?.. Do you find this valuable?

Hey Don, was the dig on private or public land? It is always a bummer to lose a place like that.

Wow, what an old thread to post to! The WV stone Wiz was informed on is blue quartz. See, it's never too late to add to a thread :-) Do you find this valuable?
