Don Saw the pics and thought they were cool. You mentioned a friend of yours and three pound carnelians. Can you get some pics from them to post. As you can see by the pics I posted in my photo album the biggest carnelian we found is about a hair over a pound. There is a three plus pound agate in the pic's but it is not a carnelian. so to see a "RED" that size would be something. Also are you going to post pics of your pet wood from this trip after you clean it up and or cut it. Take Care Tom Do you find this valuable? |

"Just rec'd my Federal tax incentive refund of $545 back. After paying my rent I have enough to purchase 10.5 gallons of gas and a quart of oil to ROCK OUT with. Boy I sure miss those days when you could buy gas for .25 cents a gallon.Hey Andy I remember when I was eight years old and after a hot day of hunting for two cent retrnable beer bottles I had enough for twenty two cents. So I carried my dads "jerri can" the half mile to the gas station to get one gallon of gas for my go cart. I pumped exactly one gallon and went in to pay for it. The store owner told me I was three cents short. I told him no I wasn't I had bought gass last week and it was twenty two cents for one gallon. He told me he raised the price cause he had to since it cost him more. I called him a crook and a liar and told him he was stealing from people and really went off. He had to call my dad down to get me off of him. My dad tried to explain that sometimes prices changed because the companies charged the store owner more. I didnt believe him and told that store owner he was lying to my dad and that I would never buy anything from him again. My dad paid the three cents and we left. I lived in that town ten more years and never once went back to that store. I hitch hiked the two miles to the only other store with a gas pump in our area. And if I wanted candy or a pop I did the same. I still have not gone back to that store and don't even know if it is still there. Just thought I would share the story and the difference incost now a day's Tom Do you find this valuable? |

90. RE: Agate Anouncement
May 22 2008, 4:20 PM EDT
"is pet wood an agate?"Some Pet wood is agatized but I wouldn't call it a natural agate. Same as opalized pet wood, some can be quite valuable but not traditionally considered opals. Hope that helps Tom Do you find this valuable? |

In the past we use to dig off a ranch by Scio on Crabtree Dreek and the wood was so agatized it had lost most wood scructure and was almost pure carnelian agate. That's why I had asked before if you had considered pet. wood and agate. Can't get anymore from there and I prize what I have now.
