Well, it's a go for our club to head to the petrified wood area by Sweet Home tomorrow. Same place that the cash and treasures did their show on down here last year. It's only about an hours drive from my house. Heard they also find some carnelian agate in the area so I might give you gives some competition. Getting the camera ready now to get a bunch of pics to look at later. Where have you guys been getting your agates? Not by any chance Green Mountain by Kamala? Haven't been there for years since I heard it was closed. Gotta to go to bed and get up early tomorrow so I am nice and rested.

Happy Hunting Don....................an hour from your home, don't ya just love it, Can't wait to see your picks of the field trip. Take good notes 2 share. I would like to see some agate representation from your neck of the woods so keep an eye open for those agates. I/m going to go searching for some of them myself up around the Bickleton,Wash area tomorrow with our local club. GooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooD luc :) The bulk of my agate accumulation this year has been gathered from within the cities I live in.
These last 2 wks I've concentrated what time I have looking to a sand and gravel pit with adjacent/neighboring rairoad tracks bed with gravel ballast beds of gravel. Have been trying to upload a pic of that area but for some reason I am unable to upload photo's to either gallerys. Where's Kamala? or do you mean Kalama, No green Mts around my neck of the woods urrr I mean desert OASIS. >>>>>>>> Happy Trails Andy

Tom, Paul, Andy
Got them all loaded. We had a ball and would like to go again soon. He charged us only $1/pound because we had a large group from our club. Normally I believe he charges $1.50. Even at that you can pick what you want to keep and there was a lot of real nice material dugged. Should have seen the sycamore one of our club members found. He found two chunks that wieghed a good 5-10 pounds each and they were probably the nicest I have ever seen. Also they found several big pieces of carnelian weighing about 3 pounds each, deep red, some tubes, and even a nice piece of green moss agate. No luck for me though. Still came back with about 80 pounds of nice wood myself. Well worth the cost. Catch you all later.

I as well Don had to much fun..........so much that I could hardly pour myself out of the truck when I got home. Plain tuckered out from bending over so much and snatching those carnelians off the ground.Approx 24 people in 9 car caravan arrived safely without incidents. All were rewarded with some mighty nice red carnelians but nothing that would even come close to that 3lb King Carnelian you spoke about. Sure would like to see a pic of that one :) MAHALO > Andy Do you find this valuable?

You Bet Me Too
I have not ever seen a carnelian larger than a pound, a three pounder must be really big. I have to say if you can get your freind to e-mail you a photo to post it would be great.
Got to go but will be back this afternoon to post pic's

Just have to take it easy and not bend or twist wrong. lol At least I am in bed, last time I was 3 weeks on the floor and couldn't walk. Had to crawl to go to the toilet. Ahhh the good old days! That was almost 20 years ago. I'll look forward to the Medicine Bag. lol Thanks again Andy for the prayers. Paul Do you find this valuable?

Your welcome
It is a acknowledgement of the connectedness of esch of us and our prayers. Litteraly it means (we are all related and that is the truth). But more it is a statement of how the welfare of one or the actions of one effect others and we all suffer when one suffers or we all rejoice when one succeeds.

Outside of the lapidary equipment, RockPuppy and I got skunked on the horses as did alot of people, no big payouts this year. Came close to winning all that I spent for the weekend (a few hundred) on the last race of the year in Waitsburg but had a different horse make it into the top three :( Kevin how ever won $12 off of his first race. Oh well had a great time.
Weather permiting I may take a walk along the river that runs close by to see if I can find anything tommorow.
