What's CRNW?
Dave and I are interested depending on the weekend. It's just a hop skip and a jump from here. Shoot, you have to drive right in front of our house to get there. I called the ranger station after checking their website and the guy said there's still snow up there and try calling back in a week and get an update and that it might be possible to be told to call back in a week again, etc. I believe it though it shouldn't be much longer. It wasn't all that long ago that we were in the area at my uncles doing a little panning down below and ATV riding in the snow a little higher up. Keep us posted!

Have a great weekend!

Count me in! I've been watching the Emerald Creek Website in anticipation of their opening. They just announced that June 6th they will open for the season. I planned to take my camper and spend the weekend. There is a small camp ground with 18 sites nearby though they don't take reservations. It's first come, first served. Emerald Creek is closed for Star Garnets on Wednesday and Thursday so keep that in mind as you plan your excursion. Do you find this valuable?

Hey
I would be up for a shot but June is looking pretty full at this time. Got the T-Eggs the 6thand 7th. Then the next weekend have a ceremonie. Then starting the 19th thru the 26th I have some people who I am doing Hanblecha ceremonie for and four day purifications for. I will probably lose about fifteen pounds before it is over and will definately not get much sleep during that time but will probably sleep all of the 27th and 28th to recover. Some where in there is my shoulder surgery, wont know when it is until this tuesday. Oh the life of a rock nut,,lol. Then the 11th thru the 15th of july are booked for ceremonie but everything else in july is open for now. August has the last big ceremonie but no date on it yet, so will lose six days on that one when it happens but the rest is open.

I have made arrangements with a young man I trained to do the road trips this year since the shoulder won't be in shape. So my normal trips to South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming are not in the plans at this time. That might change some depending on what he runs into or what may be needed. How ever as it stands I am Washington border limited this year after the surgery.

You are correct alot of hunting right here. Still trying to find that jasper mine up here. I am close. I found the remains of the old look out tower and the mine was within a half mile of it. so some time soon I will find it. Will post pics when I do. That might make a good field trip too as there are camping places within a couple of miles of it. Also a gas station and store not faar away. The Humptulips river is close to for those who like to fish or swim. Also it is only about 18 miles to the beach at Copalis or Moclips from the mine area.

Yes, in fact...it's called Emerald Creek Campground. I've not actually been there, but I think it's a couple miles from the dig site. You can mapquest St. Maries. The campground is 25 miles south of St. Maries on State Highway 3, then turn right on Road No.447, travel approx. 6 miles until Emerald Creek Recreation sign.

Cool. Val even said Jeff and I could take a road trip, but she also mumbled something about not coming back to quick and to leave the checkbook when we leave. I wonder what she meant buy that? Do you find this valuable?

Hmmm I wonder? lol
well the consolation would be star garnets to polish and shape. You could always have Jeff hunt some morels to eat too.
Of course sleeping in the bed of your truck would suck.

Hey,
My brother-in-law is coming up from Boise tonight. (same guy who took 3 months to drive from Florida to Boise hop-scotching from one "Cash and Treasures" site to the next. He had over 10,000 miles on his car before he arrived in Boise!) Anyway, we've been patiently waiting to search for Star Garnets together. Emerald Creek is opening tomorrow for 1 day before they close for their "regular days off" on Wed/Thurs. I'll post pictures of our day... I'll also check out the campground while I'm there. Stay tuned!
I'm excited!! ;-)
