The Graveyard for sale? No kidding that is a great piece. It has to be cut with the plumes for it will be ruined. Tom there is the location to one of two sites.
Just south of Homedale Idaho and just two miles into Oregon is the famous Graveyard Point site.. From Homedale drive south on HWY 95 2.7 miles to Graveyard Point Road . Turn west and travel 4.8 miles to the footbridge across the canal. The trail up the hill leads to one of two sites in the area.

Actually its Livy that lucks out, she's the one that liked them and picked them out ,the only one I grabbed was the obsidian. It has faded white swirls with streaks of gold and some faint swirls of red.

I am glad you liked the bolo and the betl buckle. The carnelian is lighter in natural light. Both pieces are top quailty agate and carnelian. There are no cracks or flaws.

The red and yellow jasper looks like Ashwood Oregon jasper. Again it is an exceptionally nice piece.

Yes the carnelian is better in natural light but I couldn't get the glare out of the photo so I had to come in to get the pic. It is top quality and totaly flawless.

I would put a price on the red and yellow jasper at $8 to10 dollars per pound in the rough.

If we had more money at the time, I am sure we would have bought alot more rock from this sale. The gentelman that was holding the sale probable had close to a half a ton of rock laid out for people to buy.
That piece of red and yellow jasper weighs around 10 pounds and so does the straight yellow piece of jasper.

Whoever the seller was he had some valuable gemstones. That is old material, you just don't find that good of material around any more. You ran up on a great deal. Lucky guy. The brown jasper is somewhere around Owyhee but I have not pin pointed it yet. Is the dendritic yellow piece solid yellow on all sides?

Added side views of the larger pieces. Bill I hope I am thinking of the same piece you are stating as the dendritic yellow stone, it has some green waves but is pretty much all the same color.

The brown jasper is Owyhee River in Oregon - Idaho. I posted a slab that looks like your piece. The slab is priced at $25 for a 1/4" slab. So I would say if you slabed the Owyhee it would bring a good price. Treasures can be found in strange places.

OK Bill I think I am understanding which piece is which. The brown jasper is the the large piece the has hints of light green and tan as well as the brown. the dendritic yellow stone is the one I refer to as picture rock, correct?

Correct the round brown is Owyhee jasper - it looks the same as the slab I posted in the gallery at $25 a slab. With your new saw you got it made. The yellow stone with the black dendrites of manganese is the one you call picture rock. It is not a jasper the fracture is wrong. Jasper have dish shaped fractures.
