Thanks for the link AndyThat is a nice gold Chalice. I sure wish I could find a gold chalice worth a million $$. Then I could quit my job and go rockhounding in every state. My first destination would be WA. So I could hang out with everyone there. I'm still enjoying my pet wood you sent me. Did you ever check your collection to see if any were fluorescent? Hey all ~I have scuba gear! One of my friends found a diamond ring appraised at $10,000 about 20 years ago in the ocean off FL. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. Pam Do you find this valuable? |

Hey Pam,Did your friend sell the ring? Did he/she find it with a metal detector? That sounds like quite a treasure story in and of itself. Happy Trails >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Andy Do you find this valuable? |

Andy,Actually, I don't know if he eventually sold it or not - he probably could have used the money ; he had a run of bad luck. First, he was a passenger in a boat that crashed into the breakwall at a high rate of speed (drunks). Then a couple of years later, he totaled his friend's corvette and became a parapalegic (you guessed it). It was too hard to get around in Mich during the winter so he started going to FL. He told us he was just starting to wheel out on a dock when he spotted something shiney in the water. His girlfriend picked it out of the water for him. That's the story he shared anyway. Unfortunately, he died from complications a couple of years later. Don't know whatever happened with the ring. My dad has a metal detector, but it is an older one and I can't even find my gold earring(s) lost in the yard. That's what I get for not changing before lawn mowing. :(( My dad has brought up boat motors from the bottoms of lakes scuba diving. Once, we found a pistol, but it was pretty rusted. Now, everything on the bottom of the Great Lakes that is historic supposedly belongs to the state of MI. We came up from a dive in the upper peninsula onto state park land and were told to throw everything back into the lake - even though we had only picked up trash from the lake bottom! Can you imagine - we threw it back. The officer stood and watched us. Sorry, got off on a rant, Pam Do you find this valuable? |

An alarming discovery? The recent hurricanes and gasoline issues are proof of the existence of a new chemical element. A major research institution has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element has been named Governmentium. Governmentium (Gv) has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally t ake less than a second to take more than four days to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 4 years. It does not decay, but instead under goes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass. When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium...an element that saps just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons. This was shared with me over the weekend by a fellow collector >>>>>>>>>> Andy 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |
