September 2008 Outing to Claim
Sep 19 2008, 12:59 AM EDT | Post edited: Sep 19 2008, 12:59 AM EDT
Okay folks. On the road again heading to our mining claim in the beautiful Harper Valley area near the town of Harper in east central Oregon.

We be digging on the claim for our famous thundereggs that are a dark red to maroon matrix with pastil agate fillings and some hollows being dug. Also in the area is different types of agate and obsidian, and heard tale of petrified wood also.
This is a dry camp, so you will need to bring everything you need, water, rugged rig with fair clearance, and maybe an extra spare tire.
We plan to be on site September 25th and stay for 4, 5, or 6 days.
Bring along shovels, picks, and large pry bars since some of the eggs keep quite big--up to 3' in diameter. Nice spider web jasper is also found where we are currently digging. Since you are willing to make it out there, we charge only $1 per pound for the eggs and jasper on claim, with free digging in areas off our land. Lots of that too!!
For all who are interested, keep watching and I will post directions first of next week.
Happy digging.

Sharon
Main think is to get Tim better first. Rocks arent' going any place real soon. Always nice just to go there and get away. Nice area to explore.
Prices are pretty easy. I charge $2 per pound and flat rate of $10 shipping/handling for up to 40 pounds per container. If you come to the claim, I only charge $1 per pound since you come out and help dig..
Catch later.

Thanks Sharon. Wish you could come along. Looks like BLM will lift travel restrictions in the area because of fire danger. We still can get to the claim no matter what.

Hey All
We got in about ( last night and unwound from the drive. Twelve hours is a bit of a jaunt you know. Talked to Livy and Dave on the way home and figure they got in about 11 to their place. going to get pics of the haul on this end this afternoon and then will post a full rport and pics. It was a great outing and a lot of fun. covered a good prtion of ground and found lots of T-Eggs and Agates and Obsidian. Decicded which section I was going to file on in May and John explored it a little and found some nice eggs. More later

Livy and I took our time getting home last night and arrived there at around 1 am (stopped to eat dinner). We had a blast digging, visiting and meeting new people. Will post pics later and will let Livy do the report. We have already cut a couple of eggs from the Cougar's Den, the interior is still a little soft and breaks apart easily but getting better then before. Don and his wife Jerry where talking about going over there and digging alittle deeper so I can't wait to hear what he came up with.
