Crater of Diamonds State Park. AR

So much fun and so addictive is a day at the diamond mine in Murfreesburo, AR Our family of 10 spent the better part of a day there and if I didn't live in California I think that I would be there all the time. While we didn't stirke it RICH in Diamonds we did get lots of other treasures in the form of pictures of grandkids and adult kids having a great time look for the BIG ONE. SO if your in California or a little closer take time to go to Arkansas and look for your retirement diamond. Do you find this valuable?

I went there about 5 yrs ago. Even though we went in early spring,we had a great time! It was very cold but that didn't stop the regulars from coming. Did you met the african american old timer? He goes there every single day, rain or shine. He showed us how to sluice? I didn't find anything but I really want to go back again. Do you find this valuable?

Didn't meet the man you spoke of but did meet an older couple that had been going there since 1972 and got to see some of the diamonds that they had found, and they were of help in telling us where the best place to dig was. They also showed us the best way to sluice. We did take some good looking gravel home with us on their recomendation that we go thru it more thoroughly but it will have to wait till we get the right screen to do that. Sounds like a great trip. They say they find 1 or 2 diamonds a day. Anyone find anything whiile you were there? That is a trip I always want to make too. Maybe someday. :-) Do you find this valuable?

I think the first Washington rock nut who hits the lottery ought to take us all there. If I hit it I would buy a dozen plane tickets to share. Of course that means any diamonds get shared too,,,lol

Who would have thought that a plowed field would have diamonds in it! I wonder if the man who originally owned it found any? Do you find this valuable?

You mean I ight have to buy a lotto ticket??/ Let me know when you win. I be ready to go! lol We best find a big diamond if'n we is going to share with 11 others. I think it would be a blast to go.

As I recall, but I could be wrong, he or one of his employees found a stone and that is what started it all. I think they mention it on th e diamond episode. Maybe on the 1st we ,ay be able to find out. lol

the state park has their own web page( dont have link , just googled) and it gives the history of the park, and I think they had a video on there to, We would like to go our selves, it wouldnt be to long of a drive from Ky but it would have to be a long weekend from work, and when I win the power ball I'll be buying a motor home (ROAD TRIP!!!!) who's along for the ride. lol

There were 6 found by the time we left the largest listed was 56 points. And anyone leaving from Calif. on a road trip for diamonds count me in. Do you find this valuable?

Wow that sounds like it was a good day there. Nothing huge, but it would be a kick to find your own diamond. Hope you get yours or several on your next trip.

Give me a call when you come and I will show you some great sites near the mine. There are more than one diamond pipe in Arkansas and some great road cuts.
