In the national grasslands of southwestern south dakota the elusive fairburn agate can be found. those of you that hunt regularly know what i mean. i have my favorite spots whhere i go and can find at least one a day, but then you decide one day to try a new spot. and don't find any for many days. Agate hunting is very enjoyable for me, but if you do not have a lot of patience do not try it. I have a website with my collection so far, it is at www.sdrocksunlimited.com. i do offer my expertice on finding these agates for the beginner. Thanx and happy hunting. Do you find this valuable?

I don't really know if agateheads is the appropriate term. Agatenuts, agate nutcases, weirdo agate types, agate fanatics. All I can say is that it must be the water..... ;-o hehe

My understanding is that there is some agate to be found here in WA. But that is jsut rumor and you know how those are! lol

Come on out and hunt with some of these agate types. I am sure you will not be disappointed. You may be the one to find the next 80+ lber! :-)
