Bearfoot Gold In central NC

We do a lot of weekend prospecting and have been to Spruce Pines. Our favorite place to go is Bearfoot Gold in Robbins. It is a lovely place, with primitive camping, dredging and panning on the creek and superbly knowledgeable hosts. They have a fantastic website - http://www.bearfootgold.com/. They schedule family outings, are very kid friendly and offer day passes. This is a private site so you have to make reservations and pay for the priveleges. There is even the chance of one of the famous cookout/potlucks! We have come home with nice nuggets and recovered satisfying amounts of fine gold. It is privately owned, again, so be prepared to observe the reasonable rules and guidelines. Not to be missed! Mention where you heard about their place and check out their website and forum! Loads of pics There is a nice campground with r.v. hookups in Carthage NC and a family friendly motel in Biscoe. Both only about 15 minutes from Bearfoot. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree with dredginchick, having been to Bearfoot Gold and I am now a yearly member of Bearfoot Gold by purchasing one of the "package" deals, which if you visit Bearfoot Gold will more than 2 or 3 times a year will save you some money over paying every time you visit. The host are some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet, and make you a part of the family when you visit, but they are not there a "hold your hand" , but go all out to help "newbies" to learn how to prospect an get the gold. This property is all about real "prospecting", where you can go and search for where the gold is and then start digging or dredging to get the gold, the property is at your disposal you can prospect the most of the property with only a small portion "off limits" due to the safety of the guests, this "off limits" area is only the old mine shaft which someone could get seriously hurt if left to explore by themselves, but the host will let you check out the mineshaft with a Bearfoot Gold escort. The gold found at Bearfoot Gold ranges from nice small gold nuggets and gold quartz specimens, to a abundance of fine gold, some visitors have found up to 1/3 of an ounce of gold on their visits!! I will be a visitor to Bearfoot Gold for a long time into the future!! Be sure to bring all the supplies that you will need to prospect and for primitive camping, the town of Robbins is 5 minutes away for anything that you will need as far as food and such. Don't miss a chance to visit this unique property when you are near this part of North Carolina!!! Do you find this valuable? |
