Pages Explained - New Members
Jan 25 2009, 4:44 PM EST | Post edited: Jan 25 2009, 4:44 PM EST
Please help us manage the site properly. The Discussion forum is the place to express your views, share information, field trips and other discussions. Please do not create a page to start a discussion. Page are to have a bigger more permanent presence. Pages should contain information, pictures, WIDGETS and other information to develop the WIKI. The same is true of PHOTOS by themselves. They should be put in a Album. Thank you for your help.

I might add there is a Field Trip Pages for developing a expanded page with details, pictures, and other valuable information.

Yes you can. Create and Album - then select the pics you want. I do it that way a lot. I will go back in the past to find pics. It takes a little longer but it works fine.

Another question - can you delete a photo after you've uploaded it to the gallery? Do you find this valuable?

unfortunately we can not. but you can contact a moderator and ask them to do it. It is one of the things they are working on is to fix it so we can delete our own posts without going through a moderator.

Uh-oh, I'm guilty too, but the good news is that I've created my album now and placed the photos that I uploaded to it. So now the question is, if the moderator deletes a photo from the gallery after it has been linked to an album, will the album pictures still show up? One other tidbit, I finally noticed that you can uncheck the box to "load to Photo Gallery" when you are creating a page so that the picture will only post on the page and not load to the overall gallery, unfortunately,(or fortunately depending on how you look at it!) the posted pics still show up in the "Current activitity lists". Sigh....live and learn.

You can also use the copy paste feature on windows to place a picture on a page without putting it in the Photo Gallery.

Don't believe we have any active & current ones on the C&T wiki, I have not received any responce or feedback to any of my recent inquiries. Kwin's involvement seems to be in program/airing notification for user-members.

KWIN has handled some of the major issues with problem people. He has removed some posts but like Andy said he is over several WIKI sites for Travel Channel. He will intervene with major issues but day to day house cleaning he simple does not have the time. Of all the people he has been the most helpful. I have written him asking if a level headed group of people from our WIKI could be moderators. KWIN said that Travel Requires that a moderator be an employee of Travel Channel. I am going to continue to see how we can do maintenance on our site. Deleting posts and pictures would be a great help.

It would be of great interest and benifit to the wiki for everyone posting pics to the gallery or album to take a few extra minutes to add a caption or brief description to their photo's. It enriches the photo's to have an idea of what one is looking at.

"they are working on it" It's been a couple more years - is the ability to delete photos from gallery and/or albums available?
Rich.

Hey Rich, the moderators have the ability to delete pictures, though I would think you should be able to delete your own. If you want some deleted let me know which ones. Also I am not certain but when you have a picture up check to see if there is a delete option under more tools on the menu just above the pictures.

Paul, There isn't a "more tools" (nor 'easyedit') option showing on my screen. I did look up the directions up for deleting photos at http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Delete+Photo+from+Gallery but it also says to use the "more tools" option - but that option is not there.. ?
