I have moved the 2 identical new "sea glass ad pages" under Treasure hunting > Sea GlassPlease limit your advertisements to your Profile or the Classified Ad's pages if at all possible. We all have things to sell & places to advertise, but if we all added pages on the main form it would turn into a spam-bay real quick. -Jake 7 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

Hi,The page I just added today "Sea Glass Artists & Sea Glass Collectors" is entirely independent of the "Sea Glass Lovers" page. These sites have no relationship whatsoever. I just want to make it very clear that the page I added is not at all identical to that one. Thanks, Lisl Armstrong Do you find this valuable? |

"Hi,The Sea glass Pages in my opinion are NOT advertisement. They have received numerous complements and are full of great information about the subject and beautiful pictures. The new page appears to be a BLOG - great addition. If we are going to ban links to other sites we will have to clean out 95% of the pages we have created. Look at Washington on the National Directory (the whole page is filled with links) Google directs hits by the number of links. Type in Lucas Creek and see what Google brings up about our site. Links are a good thing. No I disagree that the Code of Conduct has been violated. Bill Do you find this valuable? |

Hi Bill,I just edited the main sea glass page everything is still there with the exception of the promotional materials. Since this is the main page it would probably best serve everyone if it were not about one person but about sea glass. I added a picture of sea glass as well. Hopefully, we can all work together and maintain the integrity of this page. I think the sea glass pages are nice as well. There is plenty of room for everyone but the main page should not be a billboard! http://cash-and-treasures-wiki.travelchannel.com/page/Sea+Glass Thanks, Lisl Do you find this valuable? |

"Hi,If I stepped on any toes, I'm sorry. However, I do agree with Jake that all advertisements for items or services should be restricted to the classified pages. Nobody wants to be reading a discussion, and find an add right in the middle of it. Don 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Point well taken, I removed my business name from one of my pages and cleaned up the commercial and promotional postings on the main page. However, I do have a social networking site for sea glass artists and enthusiasts and it is not a commercial or for profit site. I feel that letting people here know about it serves the community. I don't want to step on toes either and if people like you don't speak up then we will never improve! Thanks, Lisl 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Nobody wants to be reading a discussion, and find an add right in the middle of it.No toes stepped on. I went back and looked at the history which anyone can by clicking on history. I created the bulk of the original Sea Glass page on September of 2008. Since then four new pages have been added. In hind sight we could have added to the original and it would have been cleaner, No harm done. With this said if a page contains nothing of interest except come visit my site it is not a general information site and will be deleted. If instead a person wants to link to their page which is a good thing but please do it on an existing page or we will have 50 Sea Glass pages (not a good thing) There is one page and Jake is correct that is only a advertisement link.(no information no pictures just a link) Please move the link to the original page to help us keep things in order. You did not have to remove the link. The pages contain links - almost every one goes. If there is information about Fairburn agate there is a link to more information. There might even be a link to finished Fairburn pieces. I personally think a page is better when it tickles your interest and supplies links to other sites. After I started adding information you took the ball and ran with it and made it into a great page. I use your work as an example for newbies. Bill Do you find this valuable? |

Apparently, someone had their toes stepped on. West Coast Sea Glass has removed their pictures and information about sea glass. I really enjoyed the slide shows they had. They had some great information. I hope we have not lost that.Bill Do you find this valuable? |

If necessary I will list ever business name on the WIKI - there are hundreds of them. Look at North Carolina and all the business links to commercial mining sites. Look at the links to the Tourmaline sites. Let's don't go over board. This is no big deal. Bill Do you find this valuable? |

Hello Sea Glass Lovers, This thread is moving so fast. I'd like to be helpful and catch you all up. I am Mary Beth of West Coast Sea Glass. I am the friendly gal who took Kirsten Gum on a kayak trip and sea glass hunt for the show. I am a serious sea glass hunter (one of the reasons the Travel Channel kept encouraging me to do the show) . I month or more ago, I posted my vibrant photos, some text and a link to my informative collecting and sea glass hunting blog. I've heard positive comments about it here. It is the #sea glass hunting blog in the world. Unfortunately another wiki member who's posted quite a bit of commercial info on the sea glass page deleted most of all of my non commercial postings and she linked my text to her website. I was sick about it. I nicely readded my info and yesterday, she removed it all again. This morning I have posted it again with some nice footage from my actual show shoot :) So, no Aubrey, I did not pull it off, another member continues to do it. It's disturbing but not overcomeable :) I thank you Aubrey for setting it all up. Kindest regards, Mary Beth Do you find this valuable? |

I was ging to stay out of this one but I can't any longer. Lisa you can put that link back on your sea glass page. As Bill said a lot of pages have links and we use them to gather more information or to see what others have done with what ever we are looking at. You have a buisness so you set up the page and I do not see why you should not link to your buisness for others who may have questions that only you may be able to answere. I do not want to see this turn into a commercial dumping grounds any more than any one else. However certain things are better when we can go directly to a source for specialized information. Adding links to other locations should not be a problem. Now billboards and rolling commercials may be a bit over board but links should not upset any one. Just my thoughts Tom Do you find this valuable? |

We have people like Bill and Jake and others who will help clean up this site once in a while . They always announce when they are going to do so and ask if we have any concerns. If any person is deliberatlely trying to sabotage or interfere with you posting for any reason this is not aacceptable and I would like to know who they are. Tom 1 out of 1 found this valuable.
