"Hi Tom,
Should make some good reading."
Grandma has the first manuscript that was typed up and is just waiting on the rest of the original clippings and records to be returned so she can have it published. She has all sorts of original documents from when great grandma was up there. She even has paper clippings of postings of Famous people reported in jail for murder and claim jumping. Funny how history gets distorted with the more money you have,,LOL. These people were rich and bought their way out of jail and court.

"My great grandfather was in the Klondike gold rush. He told stories of gold claims being salted and of shotgun salting of old mines. He made a good amount of money on his claims and when he came back to Washington he was smart enough to invest it in the Puyallup Valley land. Most of what is now auburn and several commercial sites used to be his. He bought it cheap and passed it down to his kids as investment property and they only sold a little at a time here and there. My Grandmother still has a good chunk left and now she is getting ready to pass it to my mom. the city of Puyallup wants to buy it but grandma ain't dumb. She knows if she transfers it to mom and they wait out our current economic slump they will get a better price. so some of those old Klondike claims are still paying off today,,lol

Tom the salting Hoax sounds like a lot of the mining in the Black Hills clear back in the 1800s where claim holders used gold coins ground up and shot loads into mines to make the essay higher. Its been told that one buyer found part of the words In God on a piece of gold found in his new mine.:) . There are several different storys mentioned in books of the BH books. One neat one I heard was the miner trying to sell his claim had gold in his mouth and as he panned let it go into the pan to make it look good for the sale of the claim. But your G grandfather was smart to get out while the getten was good and invest in real land. Which property is still the way to go just ask the foreigners who are buying up all the land in the US they can. Its just like the game of Monopoly not hard to figure. Good story though Tom with a happy ending for once. Take care friend DB

Sounds like nothing changes. Look how all of our great leaders nominated by BO all are taxevaders. If we tried not to pay our taxes, guess where we would be - sketching graphitic on the jail wall (lol).
