We talked about a guessing game with a prize. I posted a mineral specimen for the first try. I will post the prize. This specimen has three minerals. I will give properties as we go along. Do you find this valuable?

Bill, did you post a photo of what we're going to identify? If so, please give a reference, as I missed it. I'm wondering if this is somehow a repeat of your original post for the Sweetwater Mine piece ... the Wiki has been doing funny things lately with repeated posts.

I was thinking older than that, like 3 weeks. Lately, the Wiki has been sending me notices for threads I've watched in the past. Don't know what that's about, so I've just 'unwatched' all the threads.

Just as well. After a long winter and rainy Spring, I went on an 8 mile hike today on uneven terrain to get in shape for rockhounding, and I'm too tired for a contest and my legs hurt right down to the bone! lol

All the great agate hunters have been injured. Watch out when they get healed!!!! Then the game will be on. Some are just getting a head start because they will need it right Tom !!! LOL Do you find this valuable?

I know, after I went on my first real agate hunt, that I am a pawn amongst the masters. Hurt or not, they be the kings of the agates! lol

Don't feel bad, Paul. Compared to these guys, I'm a complete novice when it comes to the agates. All I can do is sit back and learn from the masters.

I have a two week window soon when I will be able to get out and hunt so I figure I will use it to post a few Agate contest pieces. So Ya all best get busy soon or get blown away when i get to go out again.

Now when might that 2 week wonder period be Oh mighty agate master of the west? Ya see I thought I would pay you a visit during that time if you had an opening uless you were all booked up with those carnelian counselors or had an app't with Dr. Dagger.

I have two to four weeks of these infusions to go through then I have two weeks of healing and then Dr Dagger. So it will be during the two weeks of healing that I plan to get out an rock around the country. So I will know in two weeks whether I have to go through two more weeks or not. Will Keep you posted A-Man so if you can make it we can get some agate and fossil hunting in.

Contest is on hold, but I thought I'd revitalize the idea. How about no prize, just for fun? I'll put this on the featured, tell me what you think.

Probably ought to wait until fall when more people have time to be on line. Many of the experts and users are out mining, working or on summer vacation, though there are still plenty here on a daily basis now. I think Bill wanted to have a prize just to share some of his specimens though I shouldn't speak for him. So you are saying of someone wants to post a contest specimen for prize or not would be put on hold? Heck that could be another category just in itself depending on how popular it gets.

I'll be down with donating a prize for a contest, once the summer digs are done and those of us get back from our much needed time off .. Now if only the big island had more than lava rocks .. lol
