"Bob has all sorts of neat tools and stuff in his shop. I wish I had looked closer at the box Bob, it looked like a purchased enclosure. Nice Job. lol Of course I was under the influence of some excellent stout and in awe of rooms of rocks. :-o hehe

Don I have several soda blasters from Harbor Freight. They work well, my biggest problem is the lack of air supply. I need a larger compressor. They don't have the best-feed system, but they do work. They do not come with different sized nozzles either. I have a 10 lber plus a little itty bitty one. I don't have an enclosure as of yet, but I can see one in my future. We just blast outside of course with all the safety gear and a good respirator. My next purchase will be one of those water guns like Bob has. I would like to try that to get into those fine crevices had flush out that dirt and clay that seems to be impervious to the blasting. Bob does have some neat toys in his shop. lol

Those steam guns work good on coins and artifacts found with a metal detector too. I worked with a hydroblaster in the navy a few times.
3000 PSI out of the gun. It used silica sand and water, and would strip a submarine hull down to bare metal real quick.

Graves makes a neat little media gun, with a very small orifice. It comes with a one ounce jar for the media, but can easily be modified to a tube-type pickup. About 100 bucks. I've also got a Harbor Freight blaster for matrix work with garnet media. Ok for occasional work (bought after I worked in TN and had hundreds of specimens which needed the limestone matrix reduced), but Chinese ceramic tips are close to worthless. Their blast cabinet is ok, built mine after buying theirs ... needed more light and a larger loading door.

You're the first person to ever compliment my carpentry, Paul. If you'd looked closer you would have seen all my goofs. I'm a much better rock whacker than wood whacker. Coming from a guy who makes truly beautiful things out of wood, I'm thinking that stout was really strong, lol.

Hey Bob. More great info. I'll have to get a Graves catalog, and take a look at that gun. I've got a good compressor with a 30 gallon tank, and building a cabinet should be no problem. If I was still doing sheet metal work, I'd build it out of 14 gage steel.

Yes that was really good stout! lmao! Of course the drooling probably didn't allow me to see too clearly either. But you know what, it looked good and more importantly it works. That is the most important factor anyway. Now, I can make nice looking things out of wood on a lathe, but you don't want to look at some of my other work when it comes to saws and measuring things. Furniture is not my thing. lol

So how is that new batch fairing now? I am sure it was good right on the get-go, but I imagine a little aging is just improving the flavor and smoothness. Dang my mouth is watering and it is 9:30 a.m. lol

Those ceramic nozzles is a concern of mine too. I don't know if types of nozzles can be fitted in the gun. But right now, it works ok, but I just need more air. That old early 1900's compressor just doesn't have the recovery speed needed for good air blasting.

Haven't found any other nozzles which fit the Harbor Freight gun. Anybody out there found a source? The gun works well, tho not without the pressure tank blaster, but the nozzles are worthless. Harbor Freight has some good items (if you buy their electric tools, buy the extended warranty, you'll need it, lol), but their parts supply is dismal. I'd like to see a joint venture between HF and Rockler!

If you've got some spare bucks right now, Home Depot is switching brands on their larger air compressors. A friend just got an $800, 5 horse compressor on close-out for $325.

After 2 weeks, the new batch is very drinkable. The rough coffee taste has dissapated, now just a nice coffee aroma and complex background flavors.

HF does have some good stuff, I am on the opinion you do get what you pay for. But for my amount of usage of equipment it is good stuff. Now my wood lathe, is a bit different. I have paid top dollar and glad I did. That nozzle will last a while, at least media isn't all that hard. I will take a look at the compressors at HD. Hmmm, fathers day... lol Man I will really have to suck up some to Val to try this one on for size. LOL With the OR trip coming up at the end of the month we are watching what we are spending. Dang I hae missing out on good deals though.

Hmmm, I wasn't going to try the coffee thing on the first batch, but maybe. Though I best keep with the same recipe that we had when we were there and then try some experimentation after that is mastered. Aging sure helps doesn't. We see that with Jeff's brews too. Dang my mouth is watering again! Geez, just thinking and talking about it drives me nuts. LOL

Thanks for the info.
