"Bill did you look at those pics I posted earlier of my mystery Rock? What kind of a Fossil plant could it be? DB"
I missed your post but have looked at the mystery fossils. They look like they would take a nice polish and the blues and purples are especially nice, As for what they are; they look a lot like coral heads that I have found in Tennessee, Kansas, and Florida. SD was covered by the Ocean. At Two Hearts Ranch near Fairburn there are massive deposits of marine fossils. The bluffs along the Cheyenne River are riddled with fossils: Ammonites, Baculites, and other Cretaceous sea like. Across the River at Red Shirt are impressive sea turtle fossils.

Hey Bill, Do those folks at Wet Paint know how to read? Or are they farming the censor duties out to India?

I was going to mention a volcano in So. Cal. on the plate tectonics thread, but the name might be miss read as something else. Don't want the censor gods coming down on me too. This one isn't far from the San Andreas fault, and is estimated to be about 500 years old.

I don't understand this, if it is censored, why then can I read it with no problem?

When I was 10 we went to Portugal and found a bunch of Fossils I have been hooked ever since. Just this past summer Jen I went to the Royal Tyrell Dinosaur Museum in Drumheller, Alberta. It is a fascinating way to spend 3 hrs. I havent been able to find any in the wild yet though. Do you find this valuable?

Well, as far as I know, we don't have obsidian. At least they haven't found it yet. I have found small pieces of jade in our road gravel, but that was probably brought down from Canada by the glaciers. Some of the fossils found here are world class.
