Central Oregon Coast Area
Oct 5 2009, 6:07 PM EDT
Hello my precious dirt nerd family! I am finding myself blessed to be headed to the central oregon coast (Beverly Beach and Lincoln City) two weekends in a row in a week or so. I am just wondering if anyone would like to share their favorite locality in the area, on or off the beach? I have some favorite spots for agates near Cape Meares and I have Tim's DVD and Gem Trails of Oregon so I am <i>aware<i> of these localities, personal stories? I've heard there is pyrite at Otter Rock in clay and we're going to explore the Augite off Hwy 6 on the way in. The hubby is less into fossils than shiny rocks but I love it all! :) Thanks ahead for sharing guys and gals. :) Do you find this valuable?

I don't have much to offer for that area. I did stop on the waterfront in Lincoln city and found agate pebbles in the creek that meets the beach there. It was easy and fun. I found a small "amethyst agate" as well.~Zeke Do you find this valuable? |

"Hello my precious dirt nerd family! I am finding myself blessed to be headed to the central oregon coast (Beverly Beach and Lincoln City) two weekends in a row in a week or so.Hey there is a real nice little rock shop in Lincoln City. Mayeb you should stop by there and they could giv e you some places to go rockin'. I know they helped us while we were there, but we were just traveling through and didn't have time to to rockin' near there. If I remember the name of the shop I'll let you know. Wait I think it is coming to me, I think it was called "4facets" gem shop. (www.4facets.com) oops, my bad. They are located in Newport OR and not Lincoln City OR. Never mind.... lol So if you aere going near by Newport stop by and maybe they can help you find some places to hunt. Paul Do you find this valuable? |
