"That's "Death march jade""We WA crystal collectors could have a lot of specimens with a Death March label. My top candidate would be Topaz Mt./WindyPeak in the Pasayten. Makes the Vesper hike seem like a picnic. Bob Do you find this valuable? |

Well the weather isn't looking very good for going over the pass. We were really looking forward to meeting all of you,but we don't have the 4 wheel type car to make it. Andy was thinking of going with us but he doesn't like the look of the weather either. I guess we are getting old and safety comes first. Will try to make it next year.Sharon and Tim Do you find this valuable? |

Unfortunately we aren't going to make it either. Not so much for the passes, but due to adverse conditions on the coast where we indented to go or a few days. Nasty storms over there. Sharon and Tim I even had your green rock in tow as well. It would have been great to have the opportunity to meet some of the others from the wiki.Dang it anyway! I was looking forward to some good fresh clams. Hope it goes/went well for your Bob. :-) Of course I couldn't buy my sample either. Paul! Do you find this valuable? |

It was lots of fun. Bob actually had a table set aside for my green metamorphic rocks which I filled with some of my favorite jades and grossulars. For some reason I didn't take any pictures...sorry. I don't know that I managed to drive them crazy, but at least one specimen stumped them good. after talking with them i do feel alot better about my analysis of what I'm picking up...and what i'm not picking up. i'll be keeping my eye out for more oddities for next year. Great fun.~zeke Do you find this valuable? |

"Gosh Bob mabe you would condider a summer time OPEN HOUSE or even a Spring Fling. Would have been a blast to attend.Summer time I'm mining all the cool stuff we show at the open house. By spring, I'm generally sold out of what we found the previous summer ... but if there was enuf interest, perhaps a spring show could be do-able. The past few years, the open house has been in Dec., as I often am digging in Australia for the month of Nov. The early snow both chased us out of Spruce and kept our eastern friends from the party. Hope to meet all you dry siders soon. Bob Do you find this valuable? |

"Here's the promised photos:Well, looks like I missed my chance to have you take a look at my brecciated copper intrusive... Actually, I have some azurite/malachite material very similar to what you show. Some specimens of several pounds with big vugs of botryoidal druzy gem silica. Lots of tetrahedrite crystals up to 10 milimeters or so. It is from fissure veins in quartzite full of brecciated copper secondaries. Some of the veins grade to massive pyrope garnet along the edges, but mostly quartz. Quartz druzy plates overgrown with a millimeter of gem silica are common, but layers a quarter of inch or more of the arabian blue colored material are rare and I am afraid to harvest them. I have been shown several old copper mines that have this material. Do you find this valuable? |

Interesting, would be happy to take a look sometime. You sure the garnet is pyrope? Massive Mn garnet is pretty unusual. Bob Do you find this valuable? |

"Interesting, would be happy to take a look sometime. You sure the garnet is pyrope? Massive Mn garnet is pretty unusual.Garnet was the conclusion of some of the more knowledgable folk at the club because of the hardness and cleavage and red flash. The individual crystals may not be tetrahedrite either. Some appear to be too hard. Your opinion would be appreciated. Of course the azurite/malachite/chrysocolla is unmistakable.
