Ok, here it is. "B" on the map is where the dirt road starts....also where the first gate is. It was open one time i was there, closed the other time. the hike isn't too bad though. "C" on the map is a good place to dig for jaspers in matrix...found a botryoidal there too. That road it is by is blocked by two ditches...just behind that you will see a small mound and some bedrock...anywhere in that mound (or similiar ones anywhere in this area) are good places to look.

"D" on the map is where you can find the blue agates etc...Bob listed a lot of "agate" and "jasper" varieties...here i found it best to dig into the big mound rather than the exposed bedrock cliff face. one problem is there is no water here...so you need to bring your own to wash the muck off the rocks...it's kind of red and sticky. so bring some gal jugs or a honey bucket full of water...and hope the gate is open cause you don't want to hike up with that much water! you should explore the entire area...these are just the obvious easy to note areas.

Spot on, Zeke! I've seen lots of good finds from the roadside ditches in this area. Very pretty agate and lots of seams.

No...not as good as the ellensburg...most are gray and or clear, but some is a really nice blue...just not quite as good. I have one really good chunk but haven't been able to figure out what i did with it so i don't have a picture....worth collecting for sure, should make some pretty cabs.

Bob, this is the location I was cursing your name over :-)...I can't believe i actually found the sites following your maps. It didn't help that i had to hike the first time so it was hard to use the milage notes...i found the jasper locality by accident and only found the other spot after wandering around for three hours (went down the wrong road twice)...but having done that i can say there is agate all over the place up there...just have to find a good exposed spot. Just note the matrix rock at those two localities and you are set. i think the jasper in matrix there is really cool. the polka dot i found tended to be crumbly though.
