Apr 9 2012, 2:55 PM EDT
A great agate/ wood, jasper spot, and now everyone knows about it right, wrong. But a lot of people know I just want to say, please DO NOT RUIN this spot. It Is posted all over, No Trespassing. Respect the land and the River, Newaukum and the banks. The ol lady across just kidding... Elouise, at North Fork Rd, and something near a barn, big, red... Ted Teitzels, Rest his Soul, his neighbor... Well she is still trigger happy and will fill ya full of rocksalt, Ted used to say. So If you know the spot and are a rockhound, Yes some good material may still be obtained occasionally. But PLEASE PLEASE Do not ruin this or other lower holoes, banks gravelbars, etc. If you DIG in The River or the River Banks in or around Napavine, I hope someone does hit ya full of Buckshot. DIGGING RUINS THE RIVER< SO DO NOT DO IT NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING...GO TO ADNA TWENTY MINUTES away, and DIG THERE. Thank you and old friend of Ted Teitzel Jr. a great friend who will be missed by many. And So for Carnelian, Jasper Agate wood, Some various trees including, Ah I will say, Redwood, Sycamore, etc, and Beautifully agatized, I can nopt give the exact spot, but if you know it, Leave me some Rocks ta Pick, Thank you. Don't quote me, but I think some of Adna is closed and some is open. May need to talk to landowners to get permission to search.

The WSMC got a letter from the landowner of the Collecting area at Adna a couple of years ago saying the site was closed, and when I drove by there last the No trespassing signs were up. But earlier this year when I drove by most of the signs were gone. Probably meaning that someone tore them down. However, we (the WSMC) have a meeting next week I will bring it up and get someone to contact the companies recreation person to inquire about collecting. She is a very nice person and has nothing against rockhounds. The reason they closed the site was that they found some "tweaker" (her words not mine) in there with a backhoe digging for carnelian. And before anyone posts about Lucas Creek, The WSMC has been giving Weyerhauser a couple of years to cool off and when we feel the time is right (maybe next year) we may approach them about allowing guided trips into the area. Other than that beware "Woods Security" Do you find this valuable? |

The Lucas Creek area may be off limits beyond Weyerhausers control depending on what the fish people say. Hopefully the WSMC can make some headway and get some limited trips arranged. The cool off time is a great idea. Thanks for the help and info. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
