If you were planning to stash your first geocache today, what would you put in it? What items would hint at who you are, what your hobbies are, or where you are from? List the top 5 things that you'd put in your cache!

A travel bug is like a dog tag with a tracking number on it. The tag is attached to an item of your choice, in my case a little golden buddha. When I'm geocaching, if I find a cache that is big enough a for my travel bug, I can place it there. The next geocacher that comes along may take my travel bug and drop it off at another cache. That geocacher should log it using the tracking number and also indicate where he dropped it off. I live in California, I have two travel bugs that are currently in Great Britian and South Africa. The pathtag is like a like a token about the size of a quarter of your own design which can be placed in a geocache or traded and collected. Mine has a little Golden Buddha on it. It also has a tracking number on the back so it can be moved or you can be notified if someone logs it. I have placed a few in caches for the finder to keep. But most have been traded to collectors. I wanted to place a photo of each item here but couldn't figure how to do it. If you send me your e-mail address I can send you a photo of my travel bug and pathtag. I can send you one of my pathtags if you want it. The photo from what people tell me doesn't do it justice. Thanks for your interest. Duane Do you find this valuable? |
