I think that Mel Fisher's sunken treasure episode was the coolest! I know they say they found a '1/4 billion' in old Spanish gold, silver, and coins but unless you can actually find someone that will by the booty for that much - it's not really worth that much, right? If it's sitting in a museum somewhere, you can call it 'priceless' but you can't sell it. It's historical value, on the other hand, is quite impossible to calculate (it's so vast). Scuba diving for treasure looks like the real deal to me, it's too bad you have to invest a hefty amount of dough in Mel Fisher's operation to participate. Does anyone know the laws/rules/regulations of just going out into open water and diving for treasure. I think as long as you are not inside any specific country's designation, it's open season on anything the Ocean has taken for itself. That's what I'd like to get down with! 1  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

hmmm.... there are so many, but I'm anxious to see the new season with Kirsten. I'm a little biased, too. This is my first year working on this show as the online producer. I also made a trip out to Big Sur and Monterey to check out the CNT crew in action and get some behind-the-scenes photos and video. That was awesome and I know the Jade show coming up this season will probably be my favorite for personal reasons. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I LOVED antique bottles with Becky. Becky was really funny and it was so interesting to see how they found the spots using those old maps. I also really loved Sunstones.. because it was our first episode. As for the Kirsten eps... all I am going to say is that she found so amazing stuff!! 7  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

I liked The Sunstones and the Amethyst episodes Best The Gold hunting episode was fun but too far for My limited budget at this time. I'm very Much interested in seeing more of the gems like diamonds and maybe even some more opal But these so far are my favorites. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

I'd have to vote for opals. Then all the others haha. So little time and money to "work" at having fun. Glad I picked one to try and survive off. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

I liked the Crater of diamonds show because I have found 32 diamonds from there and it was fun to see Don is still there hunting (Don has found hundreds)!
I especially like the man who found the yellow diamond he reminded me of my first trip to the "crater". My Mom has hunted stones since the 60's and had been to the park a couple of times without success. I told her I was going and she told me to find "Jim" (who had found thousands) an older man who has hunted diamonds at the park for 20 years. I got to the park with all the wrong gear (except shovel) and stumbled up to Jim and asked where was a good place to hunt diamonds. He pointed his finger to a spot about 30 yards away by an old cedar tree. "They found lots a diamonds around there" he said. In hindsight I realize that he knew I was a novice and wanted me to learn on my own. Without a probe or the right screens I began digging in the field. At noon, tired and hot, I carried my bucket of gravel to the washing shed and began washing . Don's wife was there and showed me what a diamond looked like. She had a beautiful almost 2 carat yellow diamond. It only took about 1/2 of the bucket and there was a 4.49 carat yellow diamond. After that I got to work with Jim on several subsequent trips. I saw Richard Cooper find a 6.72 Orange diamond with red fire! It just brought back memories:)
All the shows are interesting. I have also been to Virgin Valley, hunting sunstones in Oregon as well as sapphires at the Ida bar in Helena and Phillipsburg Montana, Gold with Josuha Vick in California and many other places. I look forward to the upcomming season to see where they go next.

This is a very difficult question to answer. I liked all of the first season shows, however, I think if I were to pick my favorite episode it would be tied between fossil fish and aquamarine. I have always wanted to find a fish fossil, been a long time dream of mine. I do plan on someday getting out there to hunt for the fossils as well. The aquamarine show, well I like explosives - lol, and I just love the looks of a faceted aquamarine. I am looking forward to this years shows and to find new and maybe closer places to find things treasures close to home. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Gumster, I have to say that the "real treasures" on this show were Becky, and now you. Both of you are so energetic and fun, you make the show a pleasure to watch. And you both definitely have some comedic talents. My favorite shows are the Tourmaline, the Opals, and I'm sure the upcoming Jade show. Good luck and great hunting ! 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Mine has to be the Turquois episode. I never laughed so much. She leaves the guy that works for the mine to talk to someone else... comes back to the mine guy, who tells her to 'Look in this hole". She is amazed at how good this guys eyes are as she reaches way in the hole to pull out this massive piece they spend the rest of the show "ahhhhing" over.
Lol. THAT sure wasn't an obvious plant! :rolls eyes and laughs again:
I really enjoy the show, even if I do have to pretend that ratings aren't a factor.

Well, like all the other viewers my wife and I love them all. My favorite so far is the Tourmaline Dig, for several reasons. I thought Kirsten's enthusiasm was as pure and genuine as could be and I'll be darned if she didn't look good in that $12k beauty, headed for "the Red carpet."

I have caught the bug and my wife is as eager. We are going to spend a few years learning, going out on weekends and then spend a week or so somewhere and get a good feel for it. I think this is what we want to do for retirement - find it and sell it - and keep a few for ourselves and leave it to our heirs.

Kirsten (and crew), keep up the good work and keep on keepin' on.
